I was a child of the 60s and 70s. My mom and dad came from worlds that didn’t look a whole lot like mine. My dad never spoke about his childhood and my mother grew up in a very sheltered religious household. By virtue of her upbringing, I was, too. She didn’t have any idea of what I would face as a young woman out in the world on my own in the 70s and 80s and because of this she couldn’t even conceive there was any sort of important advice to give me. I believe this may also have happened to many other women who are making claims of past abuses many years or decades later.Read More
Why are we faced with such enormous challenges on planet Earth now more than ever before? Because all of this is part of the necessary process of re-creation. Because the present way isn’t working and we have to see that it isn’t working very clearly in order to wake up. Because we’ve written all of this and we are destined to restructure and transform it.Read More
Competition in our culture is fueled by the ego mind. It says we within ourselves we feel we are not enough, that we must be better than others. It is a foundation stone of our country for sure and has made built our nation to the status it enjoys, but when do we begin letting go of a mindset that cannot be sustained forever and that is contrary to the definition of an evolved society? Competition divides. It is of the ego mind. Cooperation and sharing unite. They are of the heart.Read More
Over a period of years I developed an ethic of giving the ultimate service to my clients. I also developed a marketing/business savvy in which I did not like leaving “change on the table.” In other words, as I served my clients, no matter how challenging they were to deal with and no matter what they asked of me (within my standards of integrity), I bent over backwards to deliver. Somehow I adopted the idea that always going the extra mile brought greater business success and I think for the most part it does, but I recently had an experience that really shifted how I look at success in business.Read More
There’s a new tide turning. It may not exactly look like it on the surface. Things look chaotic, mean spirited, even ugly, but there is a counterbalance taking shape and it is elicited by women of character and integrity. Since as long ago as I can remember, I had eczema, that rashy, burning, itching skin condition. I remember being such a little girl with my toes in pain from the chafing, burning rash. I went through my school years frequently suffering major flare ups whenever I got nervous and stressed. I had it more often than I didn't. Eventually and as an adult, I learned about holistic remedies one of which I'm sharing here. Interestingly, with holistic medicine's responses, there are interesting parallels to world events.Read More
I don’t have to tell anyone that one aspect of hurricane Harvey and his terrible wake of destruction is color, race, religion and political persuasion blindness. There’s something about catastrophic events. They just grab us in a way nothing else can. We come to ourselves and realize what’s really important in life. We let go of petty selfish agendas and just open hearts. We become who we are, at least for a time.Read More
We can pommel our "enemies" into the ground. We can try to legislate them away, starve them out, sanction, fight, and ostracize them. We can negotiate, manipulate or ignore them. Some of these tactics will work for a time, almost completely or only very partially because tactics are really all we're mostly employing. And while it may be important or even wise to use various tactics, at the core of all this we are wise if we get to focusing on real cures starting now because it might take some time for the remedy to "take."Read More
It's fear that causes people to hate. Fear causes people the need to feel superior over others. It causes us to fight, to hurt other, and to close our minds right up.
Hate-and-fear is like a cloak that many wear as a form of protection. In their minds, it's a protection, but it's false. All it does is make us ugly and drag our own lives down.Read More
Earth Changes is the phrase used to describe an epoch of time overseeing global, far-reaching, even cataclysmic natural, social, economic and political periods of upheaval and change. These periods can be short and swift or long and enduring. Ultimately, each upheaval causes an evolutionary shift in its respective arena.Read More
The state of the union (#SOTU) is in a very interesting, even promising place right now. Many may view our #SOTU as unacceptable, rife with scandal, preoccupied with materialism, demagogic, uncooperative and isolationist. When we look at what 'is,' and if we see it "through a glass darkly," there's a lot to be truly concerned about, yes. When we look at it from the inside out, however, it’s rich with golden opportunities for all of us.
We dare say our current world environment is inadvertently and unknowingly leading us right to where the most of "we" truly want to be as a compassionate nation with an agenda founded on striving for the good of all.Read More
America? What? Destined to be a leader in the spiritual development of the world? It might be difficult to believe given the ways things look right now, but sometimes you have to experience what you don't want to know what you really do want. All we are experiencing is leading up to an undeniable, almost unquantifiable surge of spiritual realization in our country. No matter what it looks like in this moment, we must have faith that this is so. We all know in the bellies of our souls that this will come to pass.Read More
