How Do You Know You're a Starseed?

With scores of websites offering information about starseeds it’s easy to find bullet list after bullet list outlining qualities and characteristics of a starseed. I’ve even seen lists entitled ‘symptoms’ of being a starseed as if it were some sort of sickness or certainly great challenge to endure. And while being a starseed at this or any other time is a great challenge, making lists like these are a disempowering form of labeling which the whole world does so well already. The Starseed Mission

As starseeds we come to this planet and live the lives of human beings. We take on karma we don’t have to but choose to because it’s part of incarnating into the Earth third dimensional program. We take on karma also because we want to be in service to others. In a nutshell, that’s it—we are service-to-others beings. We give of ourselves to assist the planet to move to higher velocities and dimensions. Read the rest of the story…

Self-Esteem and Confidence Aren't Necessary for Living Life Full Out, But Knowing Self Is

Most people tend to think that self-esteem and self-confidence are relatively necessary in order to live life full out. Do you? We believe these are imparted to us by our parents or at least by our teachers as if it’s a gift someone else gives to us as we start out in life on this planet. The thing is, I feel we have our understanding of self-esteem and confidence all wrong. Read the rest of the story…

Eating Animal Flesh While Wanting to Save the Planet Just Doesn’t Line Up For Me

I was talking to a young friend about the state of our world the other night as she got very pensive and almost downright sad. Dejectedly she said she just wanted the planet to be healed and for climate change to be reversed. Then she left to go to the local Burger King for a Whopper. I’m sorry but eating animal flesh and animal products while wanting to save the planet from impending troubles does not exactly line up for me. Here’s why.

Ring Your Bell... Forget Your Perfect Offering

This is the time of all possibility—this first week of the new year. It's always the time for all possibility but the masses are pushing energy of anticipation, creation, excitement, and yearning for the new and uncreated to this first week of the year so it can be a little more potent than usual. Trapped By Your Beliefs?

A false reality system has been programmed into us since birth. Neither you nor I were allowed to form our own beliefs since early childhood. We were told what to do, what to like, what not to like, and what to believe. Almost everyone perpetuates the system without questioning it. This is a system so deep rooted, so well in place that enormous masses of people can be controlled by it. If you ever feel like you’re running on a hamster wheel, where your life all to often does not even feel like your own, it’s all because of this false reality system programming. Forget "Norms." How About Seeking What's Just and for the Good of All?

Sameness keeps us comfortable but do we grow and evolve and live rewarding exciting lives in sameness? Is sameness actually a square, a box we choose to remain in for comfort’s sake? Comfort to a point is good, for sure. But living inside the comfortable square all the time literally boxes us in and keeps us from exploring what could be.

What I Call the Eckhart Tolle Moment: Accessing the Pure Here and Now Moment Through Getting Present to OurSelves

Sometimes the introduction of a book is equally as powerful as the content of the book itself. Eckhart Tolle’s introduction in his book The Power of Now is one of those for me. I love when the author tells the story of how the book came to be because it’s vulnerable and allows us to connect with the author in a real and deeply spiritual way. The first time I read this introduction, I was wowed. Tolle had experienced the very thing I sought. Still, I realized I would have to find my own way to it since we are all unique and have written our own indigenous path.

How to Prevent Energy Vampirism

On November 7, 2018, the day after the mid-term election, President Trump held a press conference. He came to the podium very sombre and made a number of equally sombre statements and then the whole conference largely devolved. Accusations and hostility colored the entire event and he demonstrated in living color a behavior we’re extremely wise to be aware of and prevent—energy vampirism.

Our Leader Demonstrates What We Must Change Within Ourselves

Am I pointing out the obvious or can it really be that lots of people truly don’t see that when our president labels a black female reporter as stupid or racist or calls something fake news he’s really just pointing the finger at himself? Understanding that we almost always point out in another what is true in ourselves–the mirror reflection– is one of the first things we learn on the spiritual path. I know it doesn’t take formal learning to figure this out especially when we have such a loud and animated figure like the president demonstrating this to us every day many times a day. And this may be his true role—to make inauthenticity and dishonesty so unmistakably perceptible that we consciously choose to live the very opposite. Certainly, our world has been rife with dishonesty, cheating, lies, greed, hate, envy, pridefulness and just plain sloppiness. Maybe it’s time we come face to face with the ugly parts of our character that we deep down truly desire to transform.

Don’t Try to Make Me Take On Your Beliefs: How Mandating or Shaming Others to Adopt A Belief System They Don’t Feel Is Destructive to Our Societal and Spiritual Fabric

Whoopi Goldberg says it all the time on ABC’s The View. We are all free to adopt whatever beliefs we choose. If you don’t believe in or like what the person next to you is doing, then don’t do it yourself. Just don’t try to mandate how your neighbor should believe. Just go on and live your best life and stop trying to force feed your belief system into other people. You can offer what you believe to be true or right but it needs to stop at the offering. If your neighbor chooses not to accept your gift, then let it go.

If It's Drama, It's Ego: How to Live a Life of Serenity and Still Learn, Grow and Evolve

The bottom line is this: If it’s drama, it’s ego. In other words, if we have lots of anguish, quarreling, arguing, fighting, judgment, pointing of fingers, victimization, feeling sorry for self, arrogance, oppression, chastisement, need for self-importance and rigid dogmas in our world—it all comes from and is manufactured by the ego run amok. It certainly is not heart centered living. This is just what ego loves which is why it constantly seeks to create it. Ego dines on the negative destructive energies it helps us to create with our consent. But there is another way to live and live well.

Our Hands Were Made Not Just for Creating But For Healing

Our hands were made not just for creating but healing. We instinctively know this. It’s why whenever we or someone else gets hurt we place our hands on the wound without even thinking. The warmth and strength we sense from our hands can be soothing, yes, but there is something far more spectacular going on—light from within our beings is being transmitted to the hurt or ailing spot. The light constantly pulses through our bodies and is always available to us yet we rarely use it or even realize it exists.

Why Women Make Claims About Past Abuses Later In Life

I was a child of the 60s and 70s. My mom and dad came from worlds that didn’t look a whole lot like mine. My dad never spoke about his childhood and my mother grew up in a very sheltered religious household. By virtue of her upbringing, I was, too. She didn’t have any idea of what I would face as a young woman out in the world on my own in the 70s and 80s and because of this she couldn’t even conceive there was any sort of important advice to give me. I believe this may also have happened to many other women who are making claims of past abuses many years or decades later.

The Oversoul: Beyond a Limited Understanding of the Soul

Are you like me where every once in a while you come across a book you never want to end? I say to myself, “I’ll never find another book as great as this one,” and then I either start piecing it out to make it last longer or I just surrender and devour it nearly all at once. Oh, what the heck! Just go for it! And I do, staying up until 2 a.m. But every time I finish such a book thinking there’ll never be another… another one eventually comes along. That’s how life is, thank God. And that book has come to me and it’s putting concepts, ideas, feelings and beliefs into motion for me that are beyond the ones I had just yesterday.

Why Do We Apologize When We Cry? Tears Can Be a Sign of Strength and Authenticity

Do you feel uncomfortable when someone cries? Or does your heart just go out to that person? Do you cry freely or do you hold not just the tears but the feelings back? Do you see someone who cries as weak? Most of us have been trained since we were young not to cry, especially men, or at least to keep it to a minimum, but why? What is our belief system about emotional release? Could it be that the repression of emotions leads to imbalance and sickness? Any time we repress what comes naturally, this is unhealthy. It is widely believed repressed emotion causes cancer.

Today’s Goddess Is About Way More Than Fluff and Frou Frou

When we think of the term ‘goddess,’ we might think of a woman milling, maybe even sort of gliding or floating, about in wispy gowns wearing a crown of flowers in her hair.  We may think of a goddess as having loads of confidence, being a virtual fountain of advice, quirky and unusual. There really are many women who fit that stereotype, but the meaning of goddess as much for today’s world, as for the world of ages ago, is far deeper and far more multidimensional than pictures and images suggest.
